The Makery Experience | Chicago
On Thursday, July 20th, The Prisoner Wine Co. welcomed a crowd into the Honky Tonk Secret Garden in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. There guests found themselves immersed in a wine tasting event made possible by an amazing group of Chicago Makers, that was part backyard barbecue, part art installation and part rock show.
The group of Makers was curated and led by Cody Hudson, a prolific creator whose work spans multiple industries. The event included work by Mike Rea, Emily Campanale, Jen Jansen, Brian Willette, Stock MFG, The Weaving Mill, Chefs Won Kim(Kimski), Abra Berens(Granor Farm), and Hunter Moore(Parson Chicken & Fish) with music by Ryley Walker & Bill Mackay and Wild Belle.
The Makery Experience | Miami
On May 23rd, 2018, after sudden rain storms delayed the first event, The Prisoner Wine Company welcomed more than 170 guests to join them at the secret party spot, One Island Park Marina. The private space had been transformed into a celebration of craftsmanship and community called The Makery Experience Miami. With art installations, structures, food, photography, live music and theatrical storytelling by local Miami Makers, guests were immersed in the diverse, rich culture of the Magic City.
The experience was helmed by local celebrity chef, Deborah de Corral whose open flame “Rustic Gaucho” cooking dazzled the senses of partygoers. Multidisciplinary artist, novelist and playwright, Vanessa Garcia told stories of the sea bringing the culture of Cuba to Miami, and the art installations of Kelly Breez gave the event its humorous vibe. Everything was framed up by the singularly designed structures of Deft Union, which gave the open space some beautiful definition and moments of intimacy.
